Abandoned Mansion in South France
Château Robert, Vallauris
Château Robert - also known as Villa Gazan - was built in 1867 for the mayor of Vallauris, Ferdinand Dervieu. The monumental Moorish-style palace was among the most impressive residences on the French Riviera at Golfe-Juan. The historic estate is surrounded by a 15-hectare park, where palm trees and eucalyptus trees are predominant. The property, which was later also owned by various representatives from the Arab world, has been abandoned for many years. It has meanwhile been acquired by the municipality.
