Manor Mioduńskie near Giżycko

Mioduński Dworek, Mioduńskie

Mioduńskie is a typical Masurian manor house located in the Polish province of Warmia-Masuria. In the early 19th century, the renowned philosopher Johann Gottlieb Fichte was the owner of the estate. Presumably, in the mid-19th century, the current building was constructed according to a neoclassical design by his descendants. Until 1929, the estate was known as Mniodunsken, and then as Immenhagen until 1945.

After World War II, the manor was converted into a village school, which operated until the early 1970s. The property remained vacant for many years until it was purchased by the current owners in 2000 and transformed into a charming hotel. Today, the hotel is a member of the Heritage Hotels of Europe association and is a hidden gem for travelers to Masuria who appreciate staying in a historic house surrounded by an idyllic natural landscape and experiencing Polish hospitality.

The hotel is surrounded by a well-maintained garden with a small pond, offering various relaxation areas for guests. The courtyard side is dominated by an impressive centuries-old oak tree. Combined with the view of the lakeshore, it creates the incomparable and cherished atmosphere for which the region of Masuria is renowned.

The restaurant primarily serves hotel guests, but day-trippers are also welcome and can request a short guided tour of the hotel. Due to nature conservation regulations, there is no direct access to the lake. However, water vehicles can be launched through the canals in the immediate vicinity.

Location of Mioduński Dworek:
The former village estate is now home to approximately 50 residents and belongs to the Giżycko County. It is situated on Jezioro Szymon, a smaller lake within the Masurian Lake District, which is connected to the larger Masurian lakes through two canals. The northeastern canal provides access to Giżycko, while the western canal offers access to the towns of Mikołajki and Ryn.
