Palace in Nowe Miasto

Pałac, Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą

Castle and park in Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą, Masovia Voivodeship, built by the Granowski family in the mid-18th century during the Poland-Lithuania era.

The elongated manor on a rectangular ground plan was built on a hill of the Pilica Valley. From the garden side seen here, the park was terraced. The present Baroque and Classicist character is due to several reconstructions by different owners. The building was also modified in the interwar period due to damage caused by the First World War, including lowering the roof, removing the portico of the courtyard side and the side turrets. On the second floor there is a hall decorated with stucco and supraports.

Until the beginning of the 20th century, there was a large granary on the approach avenue, as well as a stable building and coachman's house. After 1945, a school was established in the castle. In the 90s, the restoration was started, but it has not been continued until today. Palace and park are in municipal ownership.
