This impressive Manor House is located in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra in Galica. Formerly known as "Pazo del Bosque", it is now called "Pazo de Ferreiroá" and is situated in the parish of San Julián de Eire, just 2 km from the centre of Pantón in the province of Lugo.
The current building dates back to the early 18th century, with the earliest documents in the house's archive dating back to 1403.
Considered an ancient house, in the 18th century it belonged to the Pallares and Gayoso families. In 1816, the owner was granted the title of Count of Pallares "Conde de Pallares". In the late 19th century, it was passed on to the Pardo Salgado family and through marriage connected with the Arias family of "Pazo de Maside". It currently belongs to descendants of the latter. It features coats of arms from the Losada, Osorio, Quiroga, Somoza, López-Lemos, Saavedra, and other families.
The Manor House:
The U-shaped building has a grand staircase with balustrades and a corridor, spacious rooms with a front courtyard and rear sunroom, and a long, opaque facade facing a public road.
The noble floor is accessed via the grand staircase which leads to the coats of arms from "Pazo de Masid" (The Manor House of Masid). The large-volume building consists of three structures with a high fence and a gate with a shield. The access is via an exterior garden avenue and a noble oak grove with centuries-old trees.
