A remnant of Dutch settlers and one of the few preserved Dutch windmills in Pomerania and Masuria, this brick round building was erected in 1892 and is a registered monument. The windmill stands on a hill at the edge of Ryn. From the windows of the top floor, you can overlook the water-rich surroundings. The Ryńskie Lake, Ołów Lake, Ryn Castle, and local attractions are only about 400 meters away.

Several years ago, the windmill was extensively restored and now serves as a residence. The four floors have been adapted for rental and the operation of tourist services. During the restoration work, the outer wall of the building was secured; inside, the ceilings were reinforced, and living areas and bathrooms were installed.

Floor layout:

  • First floor: Open kitchen, dining room, and living area with a two-sided fireplace, as well as a WC.
  • Second and third floors: Two bedrooms and a bathroom.
  • Fourth floor (dome): Bedroom with an en-suite bathroom offering views of the picturesque surroundings and the Ryńskie Lake.

The heating is provided by natural gas, and there is a connection to the municipal utility network (water, sewage). The building is fully equipped with high-quality amenities and can be used as a year-round residence or a holiday home for up to 10 people.

  • Building area: 180 m² (over 4 floors)
  • Plot area: 2,300 m², surrounded by hedges, trees, and a wall.

On the property, there is an outbuilding connected to a large shelter designed in the Masurian style (plastered construction), equipped with a grill, kitchen, and smokehouse, decorated with old Masurian tiles. This area provides residents with the opportunity to organize events and team-building activities, as well as spend cozy hours outdoors. Additionally, event tents can be set up for larger gatherings.

As the new owner, you can continue the tourist activities and organize events at this extraordinary location. There is also the option to take over contacts and reservations from long-standing regular customers. This property also serves as an impressive showcase for an office or business location.

Location

Ryn is a small town in Masuria, southwest of Giżycko/Lötzen, located by the Great Masurian Lakes. The tourist season lasts almost all year round here. The town has a rich history, with traces of human activity dating back to the Neolithic period (4500–1700 BC). Numerous remnants of ancient settlements can be found around Ryn. Ryn is situated by two lakes: the Ryńskie Lake and the Ołów Lake. In the center of the town rises the well-known Teutonic Castle, Zamek Ryn, built in 1377, which is now a popular castle hotel. Another remarkable monument in Ryn is the Dutch windmill as well as a watermill.
