Just 5 km from the German border lies the former Schloss Tamsel Pałac w Dąbroszynie, a stately manor house from the end of the 17th century in Küstrin on the Oder. The castle was originally a baroque building and was extended in 1780, 1820 and again towards the middle of the 19th century and rebuilt to its present form in the neo-Gothic style by the famous Berlin architect Georg Friedrich Hitzig.

The palace has a rectangular ground plan and extends over three storeys with a flat hipped roof, which is crowned by surrounding battlements and decorated pinnacles at the corners. There are two short, pronounced side risalits on the park side. The rectangular windows are evenly spaced and decorated at the edges and above the windows.

Prominent owners included Adam Hans von Schöning, the von Wreech family, the von Dönhoff family and finally the von Schwerin family, who owned the castle until the end of the Second World War. Frederick II - King of Prussia - was a frequent guest at Tamsel Castle.

The manor has been owned by the municipality of Witnica since the 1990s and has only been used sporadically since then.

Original details from different eras have been preserved in several rooms, including lavishly decorated baroque ceilings, several fireplaces, paneling, Corinthian columns and classicist paintings. Investment is required to make the castle suitable for any use.
