Nestled at the confluence of three valleys, we present this exceptional property in the Ardennes. Founded in 1152, the Cistercian abbey today consists of the remains of the 13th-century abbey church with a 52-meter-long nave, a 17th-century abbey palace, a Louis XIII-style pavilion, various outbuildings, and a total of 13 ponds. The total property size is 161 hectares.

ABBEY CHURCH RUIN

The ruins of the early 13th-century abbey church, shaped like a Latin cross, feature a 52-meter-long nave, with a magnificent rose window in the southern transept, triforium, chapels, and a Romanesque-style portal.

CONVENT

The representative conventual building from the mid-17th century, with a symmetrical façade, consists of the following areas:

  • Refectory
  • Dormitory
  • Library
  • Kitchen
  • Wing with cloister
  • Chapel

On the ground floor, there is a grand entrance hall with a monumental staircase, a vaulted gallery, the chapel, a living room, the dining room, the monks' kitchen with a fireplace, and an attached apartment. Upstairs, there is a large hall with a gallery, a billiard room, 6 rooms with alcoves and low wood paneling.

ABBEY HOUSE
Building with a functioning clock tower and a new roof, interior work is in progress.

OUTBUILDINGS

Various agricultural and outbuildings such as barns, workshops, stables, garages, as well as a charming Louis XIII-style pavilion on the edge of one of the 13 ponds.

LEGAL SITUATION AND LEASED LAND
Among the outbuildings, there is a currently inhabited house for which a lifelong right of use for one person (born 1968) exists and is not part of the sale. This right of use is strictly personal and cannot be transferred or sold. Of the total 161 hectares, 90 hectares are leased agricultural land.

THE SITE

The location features significant water presence, including springs, ponds, fountains, and streams at the confluence of three valleys. The water has been renowned for its purity for centuries. The total property area is 161 hectares, including approximately 60 hectares of parkland, meadows, and woods free from any occupation, about 10 hectares with a total of 13 ponds, and 90 hectares of leased agricultural land. The ruins of the abbey church are a listed monument (Monument Historique).
