Polish Mansions: Manor in Napachanie
Poznańska 28, Napachanie
The village of Napachanie (Grundheim in the then province of Poznań) is located northwest of Poznań. It is known for a large manor house built for landowner Rudolf Griebel in 1897. The clinker brick building is richly decorated and features ornamental half-timbering, risalites with stepped gables, oriels and a high tower on the park side. A special feature is the elaborate sandstone entrance portal, which bears the initials "R G" and the year of construction 1897 in the portal gable. The central main part on the first floor with paneled entrance hall, large wooden staircase, gallery and an ornate sandstone fireplace is well preserved.
After 1945, a residential block was raised between the manor house and the estate, which affected the overall historical image, but has since been demolished (2023). The building is currently still empty, but is in a secured and good structural condition.
