Manor in Vollenschier
Not far away from Wittenmoor you can find the small village Vollenschier, which has an interesting historic estate ensemble.
The photo above shows the main building of the historic estate, locally simply known as "Schloss Vollenschier", a brick manor with neogothic styled forms and three asymmetrical avants-corps with different depths, a specialty seen rather rarely in this context.
The manor looks a bit like a ghost house in that state, some years ago it was sold to a private person from abroad. The interior is rather decent. Especially nice are the long corridors that are separated with neogothic styled pointed-arch doors.
On the left side of the castle there is the smaller manor house, which is well-kept and in use as a private residence.
A few meters to the right there is also a picturesque estate church.
