Puławy is a small town on the Vistula River north of Kaszimierz Dolny in the Polish Lublin Voivodeship. It is known for a castle of the Polish-Lithuanian magnate family Czartoryski. The construction of the extensive property was accompanied by famous architects, including Tylman von Gameren and Chrystian Piotr Aigner.

Aigner designed the shown building in the classicist style. It is located at the southeastern end of the palace park and served as a secondary or summer residence of Maria Anna Czartoryska, who later received the name Maria Anna Duchess of Württemberg by marrying a nephew of Frederick II. At the end of the 18th century she was successful as a writer and often used the palace as a retreat for her literary work.

The decorative facade with Corinthian columns and pilasters bears the Latin inscription on the architrave: "Iste terrarum mihi praeter omnes angulus ridet", which figuratively stands for the beauty and special value of this place. On the garden side there is an oval risalit with a two-story salon, but later divided by a false ceiling.

Today, the currently empty palace is owned by the city, while the castle is the headquarters of the National Research Institute of Soil Science "Instytut Uprawy, Nawożenia i Gleboznawstwa". Parts of the castle as well as the park are open to visitors. In the large garden area, apart from this summer residence, there are numerous other buildings that refer to different eras and regions, including a Gothic house, the Greek house, a round temple and an artificial ruin in the form of a triumphal arch. In its entirety, it is considered one of the most beautiful parks in the Lublin Voivodeship.
