Polish Mansions near Warsaw: Zaborówek
In the small localities along the country road No. 580 between Warsaw and Sochaczew there are several palaces, mostly small to medium-sized, built by various Polish noble families.
One of these localities west of Warsaw is Zaborówek (municipality of warszawski zachodni). The palace there dates back to the first half of the 19th century and was built for the Wodziński family, who remained owners of the property until 1945.
Among the special features was an orangery over two floors, which was located inside the building. The room was later divided by a false ceiling, but the large windows were preserved. Other areas in the house were also altered and today differ from the historic original.
Other features of the predominantly neoclassical house include an irregular floor plan, a high basement with living attic, and a two-story central risalt with balcony and four-column portico. Privately owned, the house and grounds are well maintained and have been a popular venue for weddings and events in the past.
By the way, the country road No. 580 also passes through Chopin's birthplace Żelazowa Wola.
