Manor in Pobórz (Pałac w Poborzu)
Pałac w Poborzu, Pobórz
Unknown mansions in the Lodz voivodeship
The region east of Kutno is predominantly agricultural, but in contrast to the neighboring counties of the Wielkopolska or Mazovian voivodeships, it has a significantly lower density of estates and manor houses. They are hidden in small woods, which stand out inconspicuously between extensive fields.Already at the beginning of the 18th century, a simple one-story manor house stood on this spot. The representative remodeling took place at the end of the 19th century by Apoloniusz Nieniewski. Pobórz is probably one of the most beautiful projects of the Warsaw architect, along with the palace in Wola Boglewska and the manor house in Sobieszyn. The building shows great similarity to the palace in Wola Boglewska, but turned out much more compact overall. Noteworthy are the representative annexes adjoining on each side, as well as the roof parapets decorated with vases. Inside, the historic shutters on the first floor have been preserved.
The renovation works started have not been continued so far, but Pobórz is in a safe condition and currently has an acceptable building fabric. In autumn 2024, the picturesque country mansion is offered for sale on REALPORTICO.
