The castle was built around 1724, after the previous building was partially destroyed by fire. There is evidence that a manor has been located on the site since the 13th/14th century. Certainly earlier, as there is a cellar carved in rock with old well, corridors, etc.
It is a massive building with about 90 cm thick outer walls and an original roof structure which belongs to the earliest baroque mansard roofs in Upper Lusatia.
The columned portico gives the building a very representative look. Inside, a generous disposition of space prevails. The main facade faces south-west.
The castle was used as a kindergarten and after-school care center until 2002. In this course, extensive renovations were carried out.
Further renovation and reconstruction works are necessary.

The clock in the portico, a work by Georg Richter, a Berlin tower clock workshop around 1920, with 1⁄4 hour chimes, is wound weekly and regularly cared for and maintained.

Features

In the center of the ground floor and the first floor there is a hall, connected with a representative staircase, which is two-flight from the intermediate landing.
On the upper floor castle floorboards in the hall and floorboards in all rooms. The floorboards were protected for decades by coverings and additional wood fiber boards and therefore well preserved.
A baroque stucco ceiling in the salon on the ground floor.
Oil central heating in all rooms, but gas is also present.
In addition to the main staircase described above, there is a second staircase, the so-called Gesindetreppe, which is reached from a side entrance. This also makes it possible to accommodate e.g. tenants who do not need to use the entrance hall.

Additional Information

The classical palace was used as a kindergarten and after-school care center until 2002, and the condition of the building is correspondingly good. For residential purposes, appropriate conversion measures must be carried out. Likewise some reorganization work is necessary. So all floors in the ground floor must be renewed. mostly here screed or tiles or defective DDR parquet.

Furthermore, additional land with about 5000 m² , consisting of grassland, a meadow orchard and the former stables is included. The stable (230 m²) has an interesting vaulted ceiling on granite columns and a very large attic. Here in recent years on the roof security measures were undertaken. I.e. roof closed, beams renewed or reinforced, flooring repaired.
