Right next to the village of Krásný Dvůr with its famous castle Zámek Krásný Dvůr is another baroque chateau complex from the 17th century.
Castle Brody u Podbořan in the Louny district - former name Pröllas - stands on a hill above the village. From the castle rooms there is a beautiful view of the green hilly landscape with the Leskovský stream.
The usable area of the chateau is 1640 m². Part of the attic can be developed for future use. The chateau and the surrounding areas come to a total area of 20,336 m² (including built-up area). From the main entrance at the front of the chateau building, one enters the large entrance hall, from which one enters two symmetrically arranged wings. In the hall there is also a passage to the inner courtyard of the chateau, where there is still a beautifully preserved stone basin. Originally, there were two parallel staircases in the hall - the one on the right was probably walled up during the last reconstruction in 1918. The symmetrical arches on the sides are still visible under the plaster.
In the rear part of the spacious property there is an artificial stone pool (about 30x10x1,5-2m), to which a stone staircase leads. A smaller outbuilding of 139.5 m² (including an attic of 60 m²) is attached to the chateau building on the left side, which can serve e.g. as an office with a janitor's apartment or as a technical room in the future.
The single-storey baroque castle with a chapel consists of a rectangular two-storey building with two short side wings. The main part has a hipped roof with a small octagonal tower with a roof lantern in the middle of the axis. The regular facade with ten window axes is decorated with an oriel. The first floor of the castle has a flat roof. On the left side there is the entrance to a vaulted cellar.
The first major renovation of the chateau took place in 1848, the second renovation is commemorated by the year 1918 in the gable of the oriel. After 1945, the chateau was inhabited by employees of the state enterprise and the building was not maintained, which today results in the need for extensive renovation.
The beautiful surrounding countryside offers activities not only for history and heritage lovers, but also for hiking enthusiasts and sportsmen. Zámek Brody u Podbořan has been a cultural monument since 1964.

The neighboring castle Krásný Dvůr:
The chateau in Krásný Dvůr, which is located in the immediate vicinity, with its huge English park covering an area of almost 100 hectares, was built between 1720 and 1724 on the site of a Gothic fortress under František Josef Černín, who later also acquired Brody Chateau, which is for sale here. It is one of the main cultural-historical sights in the Louny district. The park was created between 1783 and 1793 by Jan Rudolf Černín. The open spaces of the park are complemented by a number of romantic buildings such as the Neo-Gothic Temple, the Temple of Pan, the Gloriette, the Obelisk and the Pleasure House. From a dendrological point of view, there are over 100 species of trees in the park, exclusively native or domesticated species. Also worth mentioning is the so-called French Garden, located on the eastern side of the palace.
