Manors in former East Prussia: Wopławki
The grange in Wopławki (old German name Rittergut Woplauken ) is located a few km north of Kętrzyń in the Polish voivodeship Ermland-Masuria. The core of the manor house was a baroque building from the second half of the 17th century, but it burned down in the early 19th century and was rebuilt at the end from 1870. Today's historicizing and asymmetrical appearance is a result of several reconstructions and extensions that were carried out until the beginning of the 20th century.
Worth seeing besides the manor house are a preserved entrance portal west of the manor park, a stately granary in the neo-Gothic style and the ruins of a burial chapel of former owners of the manor, Schmidtseck family.
The entire estate complex with manor house, farm buildings and park is privately owned. Some parts of the estate are leased (2019).
