Moated Castle Senden

Haus Senden was the ancestral seat of the barons Droste zu Senden and served as their residence until 1958. Of architectural-historical importance is the former three-tiered gable of the manor house, which is considered one of the oldest Renaissace examples in Westphalia.

In 2014, the Schloss Senden association acquired the monument, which was threatened by decay, and initiated initial safeguarding measures with the support of the Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz. Extensive work has been carried out to date in order to make the valuable moated castle permanently accessible and experienceable in the future under the motto A Castle for All.
