Schwarzenraben Castle Westphalia
Schwarzenraben Castle was the seat of the Lords of Hörde for almost 300 years. The current building was erected in the 18th century by Johann Matthias Kitz and
passed to the Barons of Ketteler in the 19th century.
In the castle there are rooms worth seeing with lavish rococo decorations. Large parts of the interior decoration were severely destroyed in a fire in the 1930s,
but were largely restored.
Today, the private castle complex is very well maintained and is one of the most beautiful baroque complexes in Westphalia.
