In the 1930s Stawisko became an important cultural center for famous Polish writers and composers.
The Iwaszkiewicz family bequeathed the property to the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Since 1980, it has housed a museum with original memorabilia of the writer, including manuscripts, paintings and furniture.
